lets remixer speak! >it was great to be asked to do this. originally, i wanted to do something really quirky and funky with the strange vocal in human bond, one of my favorite old tracks. i tried a few times but i couldnt really get a vibe going in the funk realm. so i listened to the original over and over again and then the lightbulb turned on. i realized that the original was a monster rave track, like what you would hear in a warehouse in detroit in the 90s. so i threw out my original idea and went crazy with a huge techno builder, something to hype a big rave just like the original. maybe this doesnt sound exactly like what i usually do but that was the fun of making it< claude vonstroke. aa: >bounce your body to the box was one of the first kms records that i owned and it was all about the mike >hitman< wilson mix and force field on the b side. the production on the original was huge. the 909 groove just pounded everything... when that came out there was nothing that came close to it. so it was an honor and a challenge to mix it myself. first came the futurist bounce mix... not released on vinyl, anmerkung, ... which is more of a cover version than a remix. i had a lot of fun with this one but it definitely has a signature that steps away from the original. so i had to take a run at it one more time to pay a proper homage to the original with the flashback mix< mike shannon...

after his huge >pepper exchange vol. 1<, anton zap is back with more spicey house music. moscows finest offers 4 warehouse esque deep house groovers and proves that without a shadow of a doubt hes one who you need to keep close tabs on. on quintessentials 05, anton keeps his >pepper exchange< style: stripped back, & raw! its pure, back to its roots simple groove quality which works so well with anton zaps new 12inch. but like a lot of antons music, deep atmospherics play a big part and this is why his music has that standout from the rest feel. its not often that you come across a ep where all the tracks are playable, but even less often where all the tracks make you step back and appreciate them much more than you normally would. essential house music for those looking for the simple soul filled stripped back house feel

deadmau5 is back with huge smash hit >ghosts n stuff< and the minimal >peddler of misery<. ghosts n stuff was written especially for deadmau5s essential selection live from the warehouse project manchester. a new musical direction for the mau5, ghosts n stuff is a gigantic slab of french house. big organs and synths collide alongside a killer bassline and tight percussion. ghosts n stuff looks like being one of mau5s biggest hits to date. peddler of misery is the complete opposite to ghosts n stuff with its minimal arrangement and trippy double beat. the percussion is delayed and crazy, helping to create real messed up dancefloor moments!

the first twelve from johannes volk gained support keith worthy, mike huckaby, mills, etc. on this second release johannes drops a mighty techno stomper called internal structure reminiscent of some classic robert hood productions from way back. inspired by a severe an damaging tornado storm in volk?s hometown, this incredibly good, yet frantic piece of dance music is build from layer upon layer: static beats, grooving bassline, sweeping synths and a warm rhodes-esque sound make this a apocalyptic but colourful banger. on the flip we have gerd bringing home the potatoes for sure. his take on volk?s internal structure is a mighty acid stomper reminiscent of those warehouse parties, yet it is done in a very contemporary way. check!

in our opinion alex bau is one of the best harder techno producers out there. his material over the last 5 years has been both energetic and groundbreaking. his material for zenit has been particulrly good and this is new release is is no exception. both tracks are different but equally effective. the a side is a driving hard edged techno cut with its pounding kick drum and sharp percssion. the track is punctauted with catchy synth riffs and stabs to great effect. the flip side is truly monstrous with its dark dirty warehouse feel and fat sub bass and string edits. great, great record

another serious result from our warehouse rummaging! si begg is a man of many musical personalities, his list of aliases is impressive to say the least (bigfoot, buckfunk3000, lenny logan, s.i. futures, zygmunt janowski...). but one of his oldest, and certainly one of his strangest, is cabbage boy. in fact i confess i am old enough to remember his releases in the early 90s on cassette tape under the umbrella of the >cabbage head collective< (which also included such techno notables as cristian vogel & tim wright) - and pretty mental they were too. the lost tapes vol. 1 doesnt disappoint on that front, containing such gems as a remix of 80s pop mysteries frank chickens>we are ninja<, and an electronic cover version of >king kong< by frank zappa (ask your parents...). totally out there, but totally cool at the same time...highly recommended to anyone looking for something with some real personality amidst the hard-drives full of faceless (and usually nameless) digital fluff

likely ep is tims first release on tiefschwarzs souvenir label. lead track alike sounds like ivan smagghe jamming with richie hawtin in a warehouse rave in london, skirting a line between futuristic tech house and discerning electro. a live bassline holds down the groove as a trickling bleepy melody develops throughout the track. as more and more layers of elaborate sonic trickery are laid down, a driving snare jacks out the groove further before a series of effects laden breakdowns tighten the tension further and further. cowbells take the second phase of the track ever taughter before the groove emerges into a stabbing hook and pulsating synth noises that drive the dancefloor into blissed out oblivion. subtle vocals tease the ears in the background of the final strung out breakdown, never quite dominating the tune before the jacking bass and kick drop back in. ‘unlike shares a similar vibe for mixing live instruments with plug in madness. live sounding bassline and guitar lines open the track and roll out the groove before the main synth hook takes over. as the track rolls in and out of its breakdowns it lurches between reverb heavy, bleepy chaos and futuristic rhythms. think depeche mode writing an experimental instrumental on the moon in 2012 and youre halfway there. like many french artists these days tim lives and works in london and also collaborates with fellow frenchies ivan smagghe and dante eprom. he first caught the attention of vinyl sleuths with his excellent remix of db (8)s future now in 2004 and now runs his own label marketing music as well as pushing the boundaries of spacey electro flavoured tech house with his own solo material.

dirty 80s synth sounds combined with banging 4 on the floor beats make his second release on his label imprint, vibenotic records. this is an instant party starter, retro - futuristic synth basses and chords, backed by tr808-909 drum programming, evolving into the raw elements of early chicago house and detroit techno. this is a warehouse find! limited copies left. this release came out last year, unoticed and under the radar. expect a new release from imprint soon!
